This
dramatic and
moving play presents
the proud dignity of early Native American life.

Diana
Wortham Theatre, Asheville, NC |
We
follow the course of the main
character, Chosen One, as he...

...struggles
to survive in the white man's
society only to see his people turned away from their land.
|
|
|
Chosen
One grows up and fights valiantly to
save his people. Tough historical questions are raised, and
understanding this sad chapter in American history sheds light on
current Native American struggles. The play is deeply dramatic and
the suggested soundtrack lends power to every performance. |
|

"I
escaped. I ran like a scared rabbit back to my homeland. I hid in
the deep secret caves of the mountains. And now I was like the deer - hunted!"

"Trail
of Tears was a big
hit
at the library. There was a Professor from E.S.U., who is
their American
Indian Teacher.
She said these shows that we did an excellent
job with
a very difficult subject. She also said that the script was well
written.
Thank you for making it possible
for my students to
put together a wonderful
show."
